The new excitement around September was our new couch. Bryn had an aunt in Vermont ("Crazy Aunt Sarah") who passed away and left her a small amount of cash. This was a huge blessing to our family as our budget is very strapped for the bare necessities, let alone for anything new. This gave Bryn the ability to paint the "poo brown" walls which she hated, and replace a couch that would fold you in half if you decided to take a nap on it, as the middle of the couch was much softer than the sides. She even found an ottoman and rug to cover the stained carpet (when we moved in it was that way) at Target at a great discount (featured in the picture as well). I told her that we couldn't take off the tags until I took a picture. It is very comfortable and cleanable. I have personally spilled on it twice, both of which cleaned up without any difficulty. I don't eat while I'm sitting on it anymore, I prefer the piano bench.
